Prof. Emeritus Miriam Erez joined the faculty in 1972 She received her D.Sc. in Behavioral and Management Sciences, (Specialization in Industrial Psychology), from the Technion in 1972 and spent a post-doctorate year at the Dept. of Psychology, U. of Maryland during 1975/6.
Throughout the years, Prof. Erez has held numerous international academic appointments in distinguished academic and research institutions: Sun Yat‐Sen University, U. of Texas, University of Maryland, Columbia University, University of California, and others.
Prof. Erez’ research areas are: work motivation, cross-cultural, global organizational behavior, and Innovation. In particular, her research focuses on team innovation; the interplay among the cultural values of innovation, quality and efficiency, and their effects on individual and team performance; and the interaction of individual differences and organizational culture on innovative performance
For her research, Professor Erez received various honors and awards. She received the 2005 Israel Prize for her research contributions to the field of Administrative Sciences; The IAAP (International Association of Applied Psychology) 2002 Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award to the International Advancement of Applied Psychology; and the 2023 SIOP (Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology) Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award.
Prof. Erez Heads the Knowledge Center for Innovation at the Technion and the Coordinator of the Status of Women at the Technion. She was the Chair of the National Council for the Promotion of Women in Science and Technology (2010-2014) and the Dean, Faculty of Industrial Engineering & Management, Technion (1996‐1999).
