With heavy heart, we share the news of Prof. Emeritus Amos Notea’s passing.
The research of Prof. Amos Notea, may his memory be blessed, focused on nuclear engineering, optimization of monitoring and control systems, non-destructive testing, complex management systems, and quality assurance. In 1985, he established the graduate program in Quality Assurance and Reliability in response to the needs of the defense industries. He led the program until his retirement from the Technion in 2006. The training in the program focused on the design, establishment, and management of quality and reliability systems. More than 1,200 students were educated in the program. Amos supervised over 100 master’s and doctoral students. Graduates of the program led by Amos have made and continue to make significant contributions to improving quality in the Israeli industry, making it more competitive in international markets.
