Associate Professor | Deputy Senior Vice President for Learning and Teaching


Ido is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology, and in the Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences, at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he also serves as the Deputy Senior Vice President for the Promotion of Learning and Teaching. Ido also serves on the OECD Expert Groups for Creative Thinking (2022), Learning in the Digital World (2025), and Research and innovation. He graduated from the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and served as the Director of the Institute for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at the University of British Columbia. Ido’s research focuses on using trace data to evaluate, understand, and support higher order thinking. He does so by utilizing methodologies from the fields of learning analytics, education, cognitive science, data science, and human-computer interaction. He authored over 70 publications and won numerous awards for these. He previously chaired the conferences on Artificial Intelligence in Education and on Learning at Scale.
