Prof. Emeritus Uzi de Haan joined the faculty in 2003, first as a visiting scientist and then as a Professor the following year. Prof. de Haan received his D.Sc. from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management, Technion in 1975 and was a Post Doctorate fellow, at UCLA during 1976.

Prior to joining the Faculty, he has had a long year career at Philips Electronics in which he has held number of roles among which are; Technical Director / Business Development Manager of Philips Japan, Director of Corporate Purchasing Philips and CEO Philips Electronics in Israel.

Uzi’s main interest in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management. He founded the Bronica Entrepreneurship Center and established a seventeen-course entrepreneurship curriculum at the Technion. Prof. de Haan is a member of the Technion patent committee.

From 2014, he is a visiting professor at the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute as the director of the postdoctoral program, Runway. Runway provides postdocs with the opportunity, support and education to apply and commercialize their research, and employs an innovative IP model.
